Garage Slip Hazard – Water Intrusion | My Lennar Home

Garage Slip Hazard – Water Accumulates When it Rains

Water floods into the garage, creating a slip hazard because of water accumulation. The water is also causing structural damage to the walls and floor of a Lennar new construction home located at 6111 Yeats Manor Dr. Although Lennar’ Rick Hudak and Mark Metheny acknowledged the issues, the repairs were never done.

Each time it rains, water comes in under the garage door and accumulates on the garage floor. Because of the type of flooring installed, it’s difficult to detect until you’ve hit it and fallen. I’ve fallen on several occasions because of this.

Water accumulation in the garage after it rains creates a slip hazard. The water is hard to see and lasts for days afterward in a new construction Lennar home located at 6111 Yeats Manor Drive.

Although hard to see which creates a slip hazard in the garage – there is a significant accumulation of water on the floor.

The accumulation of water not only causes a slip hazard, it’s caused significant cracking in the stucco, floors, and walls which adds to the structural issues in the Lennar home located at 6111 Yeats Manor Dr.

Here is a video of the water coming into the garage and accumulating on the floor:

Here is the history on this issue that’s gone on for several years.

Here’s the summary from all of the construction issues I keep in a spreadsheet.

Garage flooding description

There is water coming in under the garage door when it rains. The water accumulating on the floor of the garage makes it extremely dangerous. Mr. Fannin has slipped two times now.

Same as above.

WCI offered to resolve this item but the Homeowner canceled the repair.

Lennar executive’s response on 5/22/2017

Although on the list and inspected, it was not addressed by the inspection Lennar home inspection report. Because of confusion, it was one of the items Mark Metheny suggested be included in another inspection (along with an environmental company initial visual inspection) conducted by Rick Hudak.

That inspection never occurred. This was the last time I heard about this and next steps.

Note: As of the date of this publication, all the Lennar executives went silent and none of the construction repairs were ever made, including the promised replacements of two, improperly installed and defective A/C units causing extensive mold exposure and health issues.
