Lennar House Has So Many Issues, Owner Cannot Sell – Lennar Seattle Review

This Lennar Homes review comes from a homeowner in Seattle, Washington and was originally posted on Facebook. Some minor formatting changes and I linked to relevant Lennar construction issues I’ve had to provide context. He claims that his Lennar home is in such bad condition, he cannot sell the home. I feel for this person, as I’m in the same place with my house after almost five years – I have so many construction defects, that I cannot even list the property.

The Facebook review starts with:

Do not buy a home from them [Lennar Homes]. They refuse to honor warranty work and leave you high and dry after they take your money.

I can’t sell my Lennar home

I have owned my home for 4 years and my house is falling apart so bad, I cannot sell it. Within the first year of buying my brand new house, the exterior paint deteriorated and has to be repainted. I got ahold of the man who painted my house for Lennar, he was told to water down the paint.

I bought “everything’s included home”. All appliances have had to be repaired or replaced.

The roof leaks, the house is growing mold, the stairs caved in, cracks all over the walls and ceilings, the windows are not sealed, shower surround was not sealed and has mold growing behind it.

Front steps, back patio, driveway, and garage floor all have cracks in them, wood floors are falling apart and separating, hot water tank and plumbing lines had to be replaced, oven broke, microwave broke, texturing and painting were never finished, the roof leaks, and the gutters are falling off.

And the list goes on and on.

I bought this house brand new and the estimates to get my house sellable is into the 6 digit range. And they never finished the landscaping.

After repeated attempts to contact the company, I have no choice but to take legal action against Lennar.

I should not have to repaint my house or fix and replace almost everything in my house within the first year of ownership.

I have spent almost 4 years trying to get Lennar to make good on their responsibilities and promises.

But I’m not laying down anymore. I am pursuing any and all legal options I have available.

As well as banding my entire neighborhood together, because I am not the only house in the neighborhood that is dealing with this.

I have waited so long to give LENNAR a chance to fix this issue and they treat me like I am obsolete and the gum on the bottom of their shoes.

For four years I have repeatedly contacted Lennar about all the issues, we are given the run-around, no callback, letters are unanswered, or I am put on hold and transferred from person to person but never get any help or information.

This is why I feel like any prospective customer needs to know of my experience. So that they don’t have to endure the same thing.

Please think twice before purchasing a Lennar home. I don’t want this to happen to anyone else.

Thank you for reading this all the way through and I hope this review is useful to other prospective customers or customers that are having the same issues with the company.

– End of Facebook review.
