This issue in my new construction Lennar home at the Westshore Yacht Club is more than aesthetics. A side-by-side comparison of a manufacturer picture.
There aren’t a lot of words I can add to these, as the pictures pretty much say it all. No this is not a result of cleaning gone bad either. Several neighbors have noticed the same thing, and many have already replaced their microwave along with other appliances and countertops.
Metal corrosion, discoloration, and discharge from pipes is a common theme in my home, especially with the plumbing and appliances (including the dishwasher).
Here is the inside of my microwave:
The inside of my microwave. This was taken just two years after closing on a new construction Lennar (formerly WCI Communities) home at the Westshore Yacht Club – 6111 Yeats Manor Drive.
Here is the manufacturer’s picture of the inside of the microwave. Mine is next to it. See the difference?
A manufacturer picture of the inside of the same model of microwave. Mine is next to it. Metal corrosion and discoloration is a common theme throughout my Lennar home at the Westshore Yacht Club.
Lennar has indicated that all the metal corrosion and discoloration is the result of lime buildup as indicated in my extensive Lennar construction issues spreadsheet. A more likely explanation is environmental concerns along indoor air quality.
As a reminder:
The Westshore Yacht Club made a dramatic transformation after WCI Communities (now Lennar) tore down the factory and buildings.
Note: As of the date of this publication, all the Lennar executives went silent and none of the construction repairs were ever made, including the promised replacements of two, improperly installed and defective A/C units causing extensive mold exposure and health issues.
