Of the 25 or so times the A/C systems have malfunctioned since 2013, this one has a bigger issue besides not being properly installed – it has mold and moisture everywhere and is making this Lennar home toxic.
After the initial Lennar home inspection for the 80+ construction issues, I became ill. Besides the mosquitoes throughout the house, mold is within this A/C closet, the mold is on the main A/C system, the attic, and likely in other places that have encountered water intrusion. The A/C closet is only feet from my desk, and regardless of how or how often I clean the mold, it comes back to the air conditioning unit.
I’m sure you’ll get my confusion with the A/C inspection report from Lennar after you see these pictures and video.

Here are a few pictures of the mold and moisture all over the A/C unit upstairs:
I have continued to get sick in both areas of the house. Other people who spend a significant amount of time in my Lennar home also report illnesses with similar symptoms.
Here is a short 45-second video showing the mold, moisture, moisture damage and the gaps at the A/C handler:
So now you will understand my surprise when the Lennar home inspection had this to say about this A/C unit:
The duct system and plenums are sealed properly and installed correctly showing no evidence of leaks or moisture.
No mention of anything that you are seeing here. None.
This can sum up a portion of the confusion and frustration, you can only imagine how I’ve felt for almost five years now. The construction issues started on almost day one.
Lennar agreed to replace both A/C units but has still not made the repair.
Note: As of the date of this publication, all the Lennar executives went silent and none of the construction repairs were ever made, including the promised replacements of two, improperly installed and defective A/C units causing extensive mold exposure and health issues.
